The Shack

The Shack by William Young

As a father of two beautiful little girls, it may seem odd that I’m putting this book on my page for things that rock. Admittedly, I nearly put it down permanently during the first few chapters as it tells the horrifying story of the abduction and subsequent murder of one man’s daughter.   However, the decision to continue through te dark beginning led me along one of the most vivid, beautiful, and profoundly life changing pictures of God’s love that I’ve come across in my lifetime. Although controversial in some circles, I think that this controversy is rooted in man’s attempt to keep God locked inside of our little religious boxes.

Among the hundreds of ‘Christian’ books that I have personally read, I would say that The Shack ranks in the top three. As you journey along through this book, I recommend setting aside a few hours and some private space because you will be pulled in with such force that you’ll find yourself asking the very questions written on the pages ad you’ll hear your own responses uttered through his voice.

If you take the challenge and read this book, I’d love to hear from you.
