May I never forget that on my best day I still need God

May I never forget that on my best day I still need God as desperately as I did on my worst day - quote and artwork by jeremy binns

May I never forget…

This was a post I tweeted recently, and it was probably one of the most re-tweeted posts I’ve ever made.

I wrote this thought down one morning after I was thinking about rushing through my morning prayer because I didn’t feel like I had any pressing needs ahead of me that day.

Almost as soon as that thought entered my mind, I felt a little stab in my heart.  Was I neglecting my best friend because He was bringing me into what seemed like a less needy place?

I think that many times we… I open doors for problems by not covering every day with prayer and asking for God’s protection and will to be done.

There have been days where I was completely aware of my desperate reliance on God.  I try to keep that awareness every day now.

May I never forget that on my best day I still need God as desperately as I did on my worst day.

As to the actual photograph, there is a field nearby my house that frequently has heavy fog during the early morning hours.  When I decided to make this illustration, I got myself out of bed at the butt crack of dawn and went out waiting for the sun to rise enough to catch me standing in the field.

You have no idea how embarrassing it is for me to set up a tripod and photograph myself.  Some days, I have to swallow the pride though and get the shot anyhow.

This quote is from mike epps, why do you claim you wrote it?

This is one of my own originals. Mike did say it publicly, and since he’s famous and I’m not, he’s been credited with it in many sources. If you check the dates though, you’ll see that I was first. :)

Oh! I’m so sorry, it’s sad that you being famous affects the credits of your work. It’s one of my favorites quotes too, it’s good that I know now so I can give you the credit you deserve !
