A Post for Wendy

I’m coming to the end of another 16 hour work day. Technically closer to 17, but who’s counting. I’m definitely not a workaholic either. In fact, I’m pretty sure that’s another of my pet peeves.

I’m just in a season of life that I feel like the best thing I can do for my family is work my #@$ off and bring home extra bacon. You have no idea how much everyone in this household loves bacon. That’s a lie. Of course you know how much we love bacon. Everyone loves bacon.

Anyhow, as I’m trying to re-attach the duct tape that is holding my eyes open to my greasy forehead, I’m thinking about my fabulous wife. My beloved. The object of my affection. The pitter to my patter. The fizz in my soda. The on-beat clapper in my off-beat kind of life. The sexy beast who… ooops.  Getting carried away – sorry.

I was searching for a good love song that I could share on her facebook wall in hopes of letting her know that I miss her – even if we do spend the majority of the day in our own offices separated only by a kitchen and a baby-gate. With the busy-ness that I’ve been swallowed up in recently, I just haven’t got to see her smile much at all.

Speaking of her smile… you think illegal drugs, high fructose corn syrup, and saturated fats are addictive… You have no idea! When she smiles, she can peel open the impenetrable fort knox of your heart, sweep out the junk, and fill it with soft grass, sunshine, kites, kittens, and those candy things that you used to love when you were a kid. Who wouldn’t be addicted to that! I truly think it borders on mind control.  Maybe that’s why she watches all of those ancient alien, area 51, and secret society shows. Probably just trying to hone her skills for that unsuspecting day where she’s going to jump in front of the camera during a live broadcast of the superbowl and innocently smile at everyone – which will undoubtedly turn us all into her eager and willing slaves…. That’s one theory anyhow.

I guess what I’m trying to say darlin’ is that if you’re looking for a volunteer to try out your mind-controlling smile on, I’m here for you.  I’m blocking out a spot on my schedule right now, and we are gonna go on some kind of a hot date, because lately I’ve been missing you – and I don’t want to do that. (subtle reference to the seriously getting to be old school video I used for this post)

….p.s. I’m going to go watch you sleep now.  Not in a creepy kind of watch you, but more of that “I’m still so in love with this woman.” kind of watch you. I love you, Wendy!

    Dude not fair!
You’re raising the bar for us married men with a website who haven’t dedicated a
post to our wives in a while. Even so I approve, its healthy to tell your
spouse you still see them even when the day to day seems to blur our daily
    vision and conversation.

:) She loves it when I write about her. A lot of times when I get on a serious stretch of writing, she completely stops reading my posts.

Plus, I really do enjoy writing about her and all of the rewards that may or may not bring.

Hope all is well with you and yours Tim ~
