Among other things that I’ve been working on lately is a book about the power of love. I’m not going to go into detail on that at this point, but here’s a little challenge that has been birthed out of it. You can choose to accept it or not, but your willingness is a good gauge of where your ‘love meter’ is at today.
Love gives even when it isn’t deserved. That’s how we’re able to be saved. God showed His love for us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. God gave something precious to us when we absolutely didn’t deserve it. That pretty much sums up love’s nature. Love is selflessly serving the good of another.
So here’s your challenge. Do something kind today for someone who doesn’t deserve it at all. Maybe it’s the jerk at work or school. Maybe it’s the family member who always takes you for granted. Maybe it’s a completely random stranger who has never and will never do anything for you. Whatever the case, use today’s challenge to express God’s love in a tangible way.
